they've gone up in some (most) cases, and down in some others...

    Order Total Shipping

    $0.00 - $5 $0.95

    $5.01 - $25 $4.95

    $25.01 - $75 $7.95

    $75.01 - $100 $10.95

    $100.01 - $125 $12.95

    $125.01 - $150 $15.95

    $150.01 - $200 $18.95

    $200.01 - $250 $21.95

    $250.01 - $300 $24.95

    $300 and Up $27.95

    Additional Addresses - $4.95 each

It really only seems to help in those orders that are $25 and under, but now most of the doll's dresses are over $25, so it'll cost $7.95 for shipping! Also, it used to max out at $20.95 shipping on $250plus, now it's $27.95 for $300 plus.

woah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! some are good, but the more expensive ones are not! which means, they may loose more business, as people may not want to spend so much on shipping!

Does anyone have an old catalog to give us a historical persepctive on shipping?

(I remember a friend and would sit down with every single new catalog we got and check if any price had changed at all. Do kids still do that? Or has the internet ruined the suprise of getting a catalog with new things, new pictures or new prices?)

sorry, the oldest one that I have isn't very old, from Spring of '04, with the pink Valentine jammies for doll and girl on the cover.

The prices are the same as the "old" prices.

So, not sure when their last increase was. They were probably due for one. That $7.95 bracket is just a tough one to swallow.

Postage is going up, so I'm not surprised they had to raise the prices. Some companies "absorb" the postage hikes, but not many can afford to do that and every once in a while have to raise their rates to reflect what companies charge them.

Here are some price points from old catalogs I saved:

    2000:
    up to $6 - 2.95
    6.01-20 - 4.95
    20.01-50 - 6.95
    50.01-75 - 8.95
    75.01-110 - 10.95
    110.01-150 - 12.95
    150.01-200 - 15.95
    200.01 and up - 17.95

    1992:
    up to $24 - 3.95
    25-49 - 4,95
    50-74 - 6.95
    75-99 - 8.95
    100-149 - 10.95
    150-299 - 13.95
    300 and up - 16.95
